Second Part of the Initiative ''Citizens of Europe" sucessfully finished

Presentation of the results of the Initiative ''Citizens for Europe'', of which CEEF was active part, is organized on October 19th in Sarajevo and gathered more than 40 participants from relevant government institutions in BiH. Challenges and plans related to cooperation between government and civil society in the Energy and Environment sector is discussed. The EU Special Representative and Head of EC Delegation to BiH, HE Peter Sorensen, pointed out that this is an impressive initiative.

As a reminder, after months of consultations with the participation of more than 250 institutions and actors in the development of society, the process resulted in recommendations that are presented in sectoral brochures that are the basis for final comments and discuss the challenges and opportunities for action authorities and civil society, when it comes to the progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the European Union.

 

Sorensen said that the energy sector is certainly one of the key resources of this country, but it is a sector that needs significant investment, and the same should be made clear plans.

As the most complex area of EU Special Representative and Head of the Delegation of the European Commission sees the field of labor and employment, an area that raises challenges for answers in other countries and urged decision makers to seriously consider the recommendations of civil society and its activities focus on solving problems in this, as and two other priority sectors. At the end of his address, HE Peter Sorensen pointed out that there is no path to EU integracijma without the participation of citizens, and once again gave his full support to the initiative "Citizens for Europe" with the indication that a significant number of recommendations and the corresponding view of the Delegation of the European Commission.

The Ambassador of Sweden HE Bosse Hedberg stated that the dialogue with BiH on its path towards EU integration a priority of his country and him personally. In this process, citizens are very important and dialogue with citizens in all phases of the approach through these and similar initiatives will be supported by the Kingdom of Sweden.
